Edward W. Cowen MD FAAD, M.H.S.C.

Dr. Edward Cowen received his B.S. from Cornell University and medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He then went on to residency training in Dermatology and served as Chief Resident at the University of Rochester. Dr. Cowen completed a clinical research fellowship in the Dermatology Branch at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) while also obtaining a masters degree in Clinical Research through Duke University. In 2004, he joined the faculty of the Dermatology Branch at the NIH where he is currently Chief of the Dermatology Consultation Service. Dr. Cowen is the recipient of the NIH Director’s Award and Outstanding Clinical Science Award.

Dr. Cowen is a board certified dermatologist who has written over 50 scientific articles in the New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, and other peer reviewed journals. He is on the Editorial Board of the Archives of Dermatology and Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
