Dr. Norman A. Lockshin earned his A.B. at Washington and Jefferson College in 1963. In 1967, he graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Following his internship, Dr. Lockshin spent two years with the United States Public Health Service in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Lockshin completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he later joined the teaching staff. In 1974, he established his dermatology practice in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Dr. Lockshin is a board certified dermatologist and has been on the teaching staff in the Department of Dermatology at Georgetown University for the past 30 years. He was also on the teaching staff in the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University for several years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Lockshin has been one of the top physicians listed in the Washingtonian magazine for more than fifteen years and was voted by his peers as one of the top dermatologists in the Washington Checkbook magazine. He is also recognized as one of America’s Best Doctors.
